Home Page > Preferences

The Preferences section allows users to set certain preferences on who they want look at the Home Page as it helps that person to review and track information.  There are three tabs available and they are based on the role the user has in the system:

My Record Tab (Student/Employee Options)
My Employees Tab (Manager Options)
My Classes Tab (Instructor Options)


My Record Tab

Those who log into the system as a 'Student' will have access to this tab.  This is pretty much everyone who logs into the system.  The only option available on this tab at this point is the ability to reset the password.  Click on the 'Click here to change your password' link.  Depending on the pre-determined password rules, there might some conditions to resetting the password.


My Employees Tab

Those who log into the system as a 'Manager' will have access to this tab.  It determines the kind of information the manager wants to see in the 'Manager' section of the left-hand menu bar.  A manager has the option of seeing direct reports only or all employees.
  • Direct Reports are employees report to the manager directly.  (Student File > Contact Info Page > Job Info Tab - Manager Field).
  • Indirect Reports are employees who are one level below the direct reports.  (Example - John Smith reports to Sue Allen who reports to Bill Ward.  So Sue Allen is the direct report to Bill Ward and John Smith is the indirect report to Bill Ward because John does not directly report to Bill Ward.

Employees    
    All Employees Displays direct (employees who directly report to the manager) and indirect reports (employees under direct employees.)  This settings influences the left-hand menu bar: Messages, Calendar, and Manager sections. - Direct reports have the manager who is logged into the system in their Student File > Contact Info Page > Job Details Tab - Manager Field.
- Indirect reports are 3 levels down from the manager logged into the system.
    Direct
    Reports Only
Displays direct reports only (employees who directly report to the manager.) This settings influences the left-hand menu bar: Messages, Calendar, and Manager sections. Direct reports have the manager who is logged into the system in their Student File > Contact Info Page > Job Details Tab - Manager Field.
Class History    
    All Records Displays all courses taken records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > History.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > History section. All courses taken records display without a filter for this option as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > History section.
    Current Year
    Only
Displays all courses taken records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > History for the 'Current Year' only.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > History section. Displays courses taken records where the 'Date Completed' is equal to the 'Current Year' as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > History section.
Programs    
    All Records Displays all program records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > Programs.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > Program section. All program records display without a filter for this option as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > Program section.
    Currently In
    Progress Only
Displays all program records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > Programs that are 'In Progress.'  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > Program section. Displays programs records where the 'Progress' is NOT equal to 100% in the student's Home page > My Record > Program section.
Credentials    
    All Records Displays all credential records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > Credentials.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > Credentials section. All credential records display without a filter for this option as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > Credential section.
    Expiring This
    Year Only
Displays all credential records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > Credentials that are 'Expiring' this year.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > Credential section. Displays credential records where the record is 'Completed' and the 'Date Expires' field equals to the 'Current Year' in the student's Home page > My Record > Credential section.
External Classes    
    All Records Displays all external class records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > External Classes.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > External Classes section. All external classes records display without a filter for this option as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > External Classes section.
    Current Year
    Only
Displays all external classes records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > External Classes for the 'Current Year' only.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > External Classes section. Displays external classes records where the 'Date Requested' is equal to the 'Current Year' as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > External Classes section.
Tuition Assistance      
    All Records Displays all tuition assistance records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > Tuition Assistance.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > Tuition Assistance section. All tuition assistance records display without a filter for this option as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > Tuition Assistance section.
    Current Year
    Only
Displays all tuition assistance records of the employees under the manager logged into the system in the Home Page > Manager > Tuition Assistance for the 'Current Year' only.  It pulls the employee information from each student's Home Page > My Record > Tuition Assistance section. Displays tuition assistance records where the 'Date Requested' is equal to the 'Current Year' as long as the employee has a record in his/her student's Home page > My Record > Tuition Assistance section.




My Classes Tab

Those who log into the system as a 'Instructor' will have access to this tab.  It determines the kind of information the instructor wants to see in the 'Instructor' section of the left-hand menu bar.  At this point, there is only one option.

Class History    
    All Records Displays all classes records for the instructor logged into the system.   Display classes without a filter for this option as long as the instructor is listed in the Class File > Class Details Page > Instructor Field.
    Current 
    Year Only
Displays all class records for the instructor logged into the system for the 'Current Year' only.   Displays all class records where the 'Date Ended' is equal to the 'Current Year' as long as the instructor is listed in the Class File > Class Details Page > Instructor Field.
