The Skills section is where Managers go to see what skills their direct (and indirect) employees have obtained as well as the level of the skill and how it was achieved. Security permissions for this section of the Manager Home Page is determined in the Security > Home Page setup.

The columns of information displayed on the Skills section is to help you know a little more about your employee's obtained skills.  Additionally there is a Group button at the top left-hand corner of the table.  When clicked, the page refreshes and groups the students by the skills and the button reads UnGroup


Column Name  What the Information Is Actions Available 
Group/UnGroup Button This toggle button changes the way the information is grouped in the table.

 

Group - When this is displayed, skills are grouped by students (employees). 

UnGroup - When this is displayed, students (employees) are grouped by the skills.

Student This is the student (employee) name.  The person who has the skill. This is the grouping for the skills (when the group/ungroup button reads Group). 
Skill Name This is the name of the skill earned.

 

The column is sortable and by clicking on the Skill Name link you can sort by ascending/descending order.  When the information is grouped, the table is sorted by the outstanding requirements alphabetically.

Level  This indicates the level of the skill earned. 

 

The column is sortable and by clicking on the Level link you can sort by ascending/descending order.  When the information is grouped, the table is sorted by the outstanding requirements alphabetically.

 

This column displays medals and trophies.  Hover over the icon to see a pop-up box with more information about skill.

 

Note the Level column indicates the highest level obtained for that skill.  

  • Bronze = Entry Level
  • Silver = Intermediate Level
  • Gold = Advanced Level
  • Trophy = Expert Level (or No Level) - Either indicates the highest you can go.

 

Attained By This column indicates the course completed which to which this skill was acquired.

 

The column is sortable and by clicking on the Attained By link you can sort by ascending/descending order.  When the information is grouped, the table is sorted by the outstanding requirements alphabetically.

 Date Attained   This column indicates the date the skill was obtained and this is typically the complete date of the course. 

 

The column is sortable and by clicking on the Date Attained link you can sort by ascending/descending order.  When the information is grouped, the table is sorted by the outstanding requirements alphabetically.





How do you add a skill?

At this point, there is not a way for a manager to add a skill.  If it is felt that that an employee should have a skill or a level not listed, discuss the matter with the appropriate person(s) to get the skill added.
