FAQs

Step 1: SCORM Prerequisites

(1) The SCORM feature is available in Cyber Train (enterprise level). If you are on the express or professional level of Cyber Train and desire this feature, contact the support team and to see what it will take to upgrade to the enterprise level.  To check the level on which you are currently on go to Admin > System Setup > Install Code Tab.  At the bottom, it should indicate the current level.

(2) Visibility Software utilizes a third-party (SCORM Cloud) to store and run the SCORM and AICC training packages.  This feature incurs a cost, $500 for 1 block of new launches (1 block = 1000 new launches).  Blocks of 1,000 may be purchased as needed whenever they are needed and they are good for up to 1 year from date of purchase.
  • For example, if there are 10 SCORM training packages and 200 employees who need to take all of them, 10 x 200 = 2000 new launches, it is recommended for at least 2 blocks (2000 new launches) to be purchased but possibly 3 blocks.
  • What is a 'new' launch? A new launch is the first time the student clicks the training package link.  If the student re-clicks the same link, this is not seen as a new launch.  This allows the student to rewatch the training as often as needed without it counting against the new launch count.  Should the course, the class or the student change, it will be seen as a new launch.

Visibility Software will get you set up with a SCORM Cloud account and provide you with the information necessary to enable the feature.

(3) Must have internet access for this to function (not internet access configured through a proxy). The site must be accessible from outside sources so the progress of the training can be written back to Cyber Train.

NOTE: At this point, Visibility Software supports AICC and SCORM 1.2 training packages.

Course Complete Instructions:
Sample Message: You have effectively left your training webinar session. If you have completed your training session, then you can click elsewhere in the system at this point as needed. If you have not completed your training session, your spot is bookmarked so that you can pick it back up where you left off. To access this training session again go to your Home Page > My Records > Classes. Click the link that reads 'Re-Launch' to start it back up.

(3) On the Report Security Tab

Select the users who should have access to the three (3) pre-defined reports that are provided with this feature. Hold the CTRL Key down to select users one at a time or hold the SHIFT key down to select a group of users next to each other. This is all that is needed to setup SCORM in Cyber Train.

(4) On the Sync SCORM Tab (Added - Version 6.5)

This is not needed for setup but is used to update and refresh the Cyber Train system with information as needed.

When it works

Example - Student clicks on the Launch link and they experience a problem while completing the training.  In a situation like this, a record would have been created in the StudentSCORM table and without finishing it sees the training as Incomplete but in fact the student completed the training.  This button pulls the record from the SCORM Cloud and updates the record in Cyber Train with the correct completed information.

When it might not appear to work

Example - Student clicks on the Launch link and they experience a problem off the bat.  If the issue happens right from the start, a record might not have been created in the StudentSCORM table even though the class enrollment appears to have worked because the link changes from Launch to Relaunch. In this case, the Sync button will not work because what it does is it calls the SCORM Cloud and pulls records that match in the StudentSCORM table and updates if needed.  If the Sync button is not working as it should, contact support to see if this is the case.

Scorm Sync Date Range

- From Date: This date field indicates the start date for the range.

- To Date: This date field indicates the end date for the range.

NOTE: the more records in the date range, the longer it will take to process the request.

For example, about 70 records could take up to 15 seconds whereas 650 records could take up to 2 minutes.
