Custom Links

Page Location: Admin > Links > Custom Links

Custom Links allows Users the ability to embed shortcut links in Cyber Train to other pages, other websites, and/or documents. For example, perhaps it would be helpful to Users to have shortcuts to quickly access Cyber Recruiter, thus putting in a link to this system saves time and clicks.

Field Purpose
Link Group Name

Use this field to create an entirely new group on the Main Menu Bar. Upon clicking save changes, logout and log back in to see this location option in the Add new record or Edit options.

Field Purpose
Link Name Displays this name wherever in Cyber Train the link is located.
Location Identifies the location of the link in Cyber Train.
New Window This Yes/No setting determines whether the link will open in a new browser window or open in the existing window (replacing Cyber Train).
Rule of thumb, if the link is outside of the Cyber Train system; set the field to equal YES.
Link Page Here is where the actual URL is needed.  (Note: If the link is being set up for a website not in Cyber Train, say for Open Sesame, the link needs to be in full format, i.e. https://www.opensesame.com)

 Choose the

 users...

Select which Users in the system can see this custom link.

NOTE - If the Location selected is either Home Page (Students) or Home Page (Managers) all students or all managers will have access to the link.  Since these are not Users with a security profile in the system,  names need not be selected here.

NOTE: As of Version 6.0, users have the option to use a GUID value to single sign on from Cyber Train to Cyber Recruiter.  See the first screenshot above to see how to setup the custom link.  Make sure the URL up to the ? is actually referencing the real location of the Cyber Recruiter system and the user has the GUID information entered in both systems.  This is not a link that should be located on the Home Page rather a different location as this feature is not available to students only users (those with security profiles).
