Possible options for permission settings:
- Not View: Not be able to see this section at all
- View: Able to see the section but will not be able to change anything
- Add Only: Acts like View status where nothing existing in the section can be changed but there is the option to add new items to this section. There may be an approval process (set up elsewhere) if that is the case.

Instructions Tab
This text box controls the wording or instructions that display at the top of the page when a student/manager/instructor clicks on the Messages link in the left-hand menu bar on the Home Page. The page only displays if there are messages (outstanding or upcoming activities, etc.) for the student/manager/instructor, so do not put information here that could be missed if the student/manager/instructor is up-to-date on all items. Generally, it should give some information on how to navigate the Home Page > Messages sections or other information as necessary.
Example Instructions:
The Messages option is where you can see all messages that relate to you or as you have security permissions to see them. They are to help keep you on track with that needs to be done, what is coming up or what has expired.
Depending, messages can be an action or a reminder. If the ability to take action from this board is available and you do so, the action item will be cleared. If the message is a reminder, it will clear upon the appropriate time the event happens. If you want to manually an item and it is possible to do so, check the box in front of the item and then click the Mark as Read link in Messages section of the left-hand menu bar.
The Messages section is grouped by category. To expand a category, click on the '+' sign or to collapse a category, click on the '-' sign. Or, you can Expand All or Collapse All categories by clicking the appropriate link in the Messages section of the left-hand menu bar.
