xApplication Questions

Page Location: Applicant File > Application > Application Questions Tab

Questions appear on this tab if they are activated in other areas of the product.  Remember that not all of these questions are displayed to the applicant. 

Standard Application Questions are activated via the Admin > Page Builder > Applicant > Miscellaneous page unless noted below. Entering a caption for the field allows it to be displayed on this page.  The names in YOUR system may be different that what is shown below because the captions are configurable. 

NOTE: Many of the items below which are only available in the Self Service module on the Application Questions page are generally NOT used for usage of collecting information from the Applicant because the wording of the question cannot be controlled and they do not display during the application process.  Instead, custom Application Questions are generally used.  


Field  Purpose  Note Show to Applicant 
Referral Category Captures the category of the referral source (Job Board, Referrals, etc.).  If a category is selected, a shorter list of sources will display. This field is always displayed.  Set to "Yes" on the Contact Information page of the Online Application. 
Referral Source  Captures the actual source (MONSTER, Employee Referral, etc.) This field is always displayed. Set to "Yes" or "Required" on the Contact Information page of the Online Application.
Salary Expectations Captures the desired expected salary.   Set to "Yes" or "Required" on the Contact Information page of the Online Application.
Willing to Relocate Yes/No option notating that the applicant is willing to relocate for a position.   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
US Work Status Captures the US Work eligibility status (US Citizen, VISA, etc.).   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
Date Available Captures the date a person is available to start work.   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
Signed Application Agreement Yes/No field which captures if the applicant has signed the Application Agreement.  If the "Agreement" page is displayed in the application process or via the Self Service module, this field will automatically change to YES once the signature is captured. This field is always displayed.
Signature Name of the person who signed the agreement.  This will display on the bottom of the Print App report. 

If the "Agreement" page is displayed in the application process or via the Self Service module, this field will capture the name entered by the applicant on this page. 
This field is always displayed.  
Sign Date Date the person signed the agreement. This will display on the bottom of the Print App report. 

If the "Agreement" page is displayed in the application process or via the Self Service module, this field will automatically update with the date of the signature.
This field is always displayed.  
Birth City Captures the answer to the security question "Birth City" which works in conjunction with the on-linepassword retrieval.  When retrieving the password, this piece of information is verified before giving the applicant his/her password.     Highlight this field in the field options section of the Contact Information page of the Self Service module.
Pet's Name Captures the answer to the security question "Pet's Name" which works in conjunction with the on-linepassword retrieval. When retrieving the password, this piece of information is verified before giving the applicant his/her password.   Highlight this field in the field options section of the Contact Information page of the Self Service module.
Travel 
/ Explanation
Yes/No option notating that the applicant is willing to travel for a position. A text box is also provided to capture details related to the response.    Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module. 
Felony 
/ Explanation
Yes/No option notating that the applicant has or has not had a felony conviction. A text box is also provided to capture details related to the response.   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
Previously Employed 
/ Explanation
Yes/No option notating that the applicant has or has not worked for the company in the past. A text box is also provided to capture details related to the response.   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
Source Details Captures additional details related to a Referral Source.  This is most commonly used to track the name of the person related to an Employee Referral.  If the Employee Referral module is activated, a user can use the link below the field to find the employee in the system.  Taking this action will 
1) Default the employees name in the field
2) Display the applicant's name and status to the employee in his/her view of the Self Service module
3) Display the employee's name and requisition connected on the "Employee Referral" page for bonus tracking.  
  Field will automatically show when the Referral Source field is set to "Yes" or "Required" on the Contact Information page of the Online Application.
Position Desired Captures a category of job this applicant is interested in.  This is not a connection back to the requisition.   Set to "Yes" or "Required" on the Contact Information page of the Online Application.
Desired Location  Captures a specific location which is of interested to this applicant.   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
Over 18 Yes/No option notating that the applicant is over 18 years of age.   Highlight this field on the questions section of the Application Questions of Self Service module.
Self Service View Will display "Normal" or "Wizard" and controls the view of the Self Service module displayed to the applicant.  When an applicant applies to a position for the first time, the view will be set to "Wizard" which means that the applicant will be shown specific pages in a set order based on the online application.  Once the process is complete, the field will automatically change to "Normal".  This gives the applicant can see all the pages of the Self Service module and has control based on the security settings for each page. This field is always displayed.
Self Service Login This field is not relevant UNLESS the Custom Login option is being used for login to the Self Service module.  If it is, this is the login which will grant access to This field is always displayed IF access in Group Security is set to "View" or "Update". Select this as an option for the login to the Self Service on the Main page of the Self Service module.  
Reset Password This hyperlink allows the user to reset the password for an applicant.  Hovering over the link will display the password to the user. This field is always displayed IF access in Group Security is set to "Update".  
Last Login This field is automatically updated each time an applicant accesses his/her record via the Self Service module. This field is always displayed.  
Favorite Color Captures the answer to the security question "Favorite Color" which works in conjunction with the on-line password retrieval. When retrieving the password, this piece of information is verified before giving the applicant his/her password.   Highlight this field in the field options section of the Contact Information page of the Self Service module.

Custom Application Questions are activated via the Admin > Page Builder > Applicant > Application Questions . Entering a question on the Admin  page creates a questions on the Application page.
 
Groups can be assigned to each questions to help organize this page.  The drop-down below the caption "Application Questions" allows the user to quickly limit the number of questions on this section of the page.  

The captions below each section are the Group names defined in the Application Questions set section.  If there is a number next to the header or the group name, this represents the score of the questions.
