The "Browsing Method" field is used to set how the job will be displayed on the website when the Applicant selected to ‘view openings’. There are four views available and each present a different set of options to configure. For an visual example of each press the Example link on the page or press the title of the section below.. Once the view is selected, press the to save the setting and then click the  to edit the option and finish the setup.

Single Page - Complete

The Single Page – Complete option lists the positions in alphabetical order of Job Title, one after another.  No sorting is available in this view but specific fields from the requisition can be posted as well as 250 characters of the job description.  This view is generally used if no more than 25 jobs are posted to the careers site at any given time.

Field  Purpose 
Instruction Box Enter a message in the box provided which will give instruction to the applicants for what step to take next. (For example, click on the Job Title to view the full job description)
Display Fields 1 - 5 Fields from the Main Page of the requisition file which will appear when the Applicant selects to view this position.
  Req Code Displays the unique code associated with the requisition
  Job Type Displays the "Job Type" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  Full Time/ Part Time Displays the "FT/PT" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  Current Req Status Displays the Public status related to the Status on the General tab of the Main page.
  Status Date Displays the "Status Date" field from the General tab of the Main page.
  Open Date Displays the "Open Date" from the General tab of the Main page
  Requested Date Displays the "Date Requested" field from General tab of the Main page
  From Salary Displays the "From Salary" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  To Salary  Displays the "To Salary" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  From/To Together Displays the "From Salary" and the "To Salary" fields from the Job Info tab of the Main page. in the same column.
  Salary Grade Displays the "Salary Grade" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  Org Level (1 - 5) Displays any one of the organizational levels defined on the Job Info tab of the Main page
  Misc Fields (1 - 20) Displays any one of the miscellaneous fields defined on the Misc. tab of the Main page.
  Location Fields

Options include "City", "State", "City, State", "County", "Country".

Pulls information from the Location field of the Main page. 

Field Display Caption Specify what this field should be called on the search results page.
Job Description Select which field should be used when displaying the 250 characters of the job description.
  Job Description Displays text stored on the 1st tab (Job Description) of the Job Description page.
  Public Job Description Displays text stored on the 3rd tab (Public Job Description) of the Job Description page.
  Requirements Displays text stored on the 2nd tab (Requirements) of the Job Description page.
  Job Description & Requirements Displays text stored on the 1st and 2nd tabs (Job Description & Requirements) of the Job Description page.
  Public Job Description & Requirements Displays text stored on the 3rd and 2nd tabs (Public Job Description & Requirements) of the Job Description page. 

Single Page - Table

The Single Page – Table option lists the positions in alphabetical order by Job Title in a table format.  The applicant can then resort the list by any column provided. This view is generally used if there are more than 25 jobs but less than 75-100 jobs posted to the careers site at any given time.

Caption for Req Title Enter a caption for the column header for the Requisition Title
Display Fields 2 - 5 Fields from the Main Page of the requisition file which will appear when the Applicant selects to view this position.
  Req Code Displays the unique code associated with the requisition
  Job Type Displays the "Job Type" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  Full Time/ Part Time Displays the "FT/PT" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  Current Req Status Displays the Public status related to the Status on the General tab of the Main page.
  Status Date Displays the "Status Date" field from the General tab of the Main page.
  Open Date Displays the "Open Date" from the General tab of the Main page
  Requested Date Displays the "Date Requested" field from General tab of the Main page
  From Salary Displays the "From Salary" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.
  To Salary  Displays the "To Salary" field from the Job Info tab of the Main page.

Grouped - Complete

The Grouped  – Complete allows for up to two filters on the jobs to occur prior to listing the jobs for further review.  This is generally done if the are more than 75-100 jobs posted on the website OR if a grouping is important related to the nature of the job (different company, different locations, etc.) which will make it easier to find jobs for applicants if they are grouped.

Select "Complete" instead of "Table" if the resulting job listing (after the groups are selected) results in less than 25 jobs.

Once the group is selected, the detail of the page works just like the Single Page - Complete.  The position are listed in alphabetical order of Job Title, one after another.  No sorting is available in this view but specific fields from the requisition can be posted as well as 250 characters of the job description.

Grouping Options

Field  Purpose 
Primary Group Select which field should be used as the 1st level of grouping.  If the "Group - Complete" option is selected  then this must be filled in.  The Secondary Group is option but the Primary Group must be selected. 
    Job Type  Displays values from the "Job Type" code table.
    Full Time/ Part Time Displays values from the "FT/PT" code table.
    Org 1 - 5 Displays all the active values from the selected organizational level selected based on the code table setup.
    Misc 1 - 20 Displays all the active values from the select misc field selected based on the code table setup.
 

 

This message box appears above the listing the values of the primary group.  Enter a message in the box provided which will give instruction to the applicants for what step to take next. (For example, select the desired location)

The merge field {OrgDesc} and be placed into the text of the instruction box to pull the Note related to the Organizational Level stored in the code table setup.   
Secondary Group Select which field should be used as the 2nd level of grouping.  The Secondary Group is option but the Primary Group must be selected. 
    Job Type Displays values from the "Job Type" code table.
    Full Time/ Part Time Displays values from the "FT/PT" code table.
    Org 1 - 5 Displays all the active values from the selected organizational level selected based on the code table setup.
    Misc 1 - 20 Displays all the active values from the select misc field selected based on the code table setup
 

 

This message box appears above the listing the values of the secondary group.  Enter a message in the box provided which will give instruction to the applicants for what step to take next. (For example, select the desired department)

The merge field {OrgDesc} and be placed into the text of the instruction box to pull the Note related to the Organizational Level stored in the code table setup. 
Display number...? Select Yes to display the number, select not to display the number. The recommended setting is Yes.
Display group...? Select Yes to always display the group, regardless of openings.

It is recommended that this field be set to Yes if Display Number is also set to Yes.
Groups Centered? Selecting Yes will make the group appears in the center of the page instead of Left Justified.

Grouped Table

The Grouped – Table allows for up to two filters on the jobs to occur prior to listing the jobs for further review. This is generally done if the are more than 75-100 jobs posted on the website OR if a grouping is important related to the nature of the job (different company, different locations, etc.) which will make it easier to find jobs for applicants if they are grouped.

Select "Table" instead of "Complete" if the resulting job listing (after the groups are selected) results in More than 25 jobs.

Once the group is selected, the detail of the page works just like the Single Page - Table . The positions are in alphabetical order by Job Title in a table format.  The applicant can then resort the list by any column provided.
