As of March 24, 2014 it is legal to ask if a person is in a Protected Veterans during the application process. If using this field, it is recommended that a link to the definition of the Protected Veterans status be provided (http://www.dol.gov/ofccp/regs/compliance/factsheets/vetrights.htm#Q2) OR the definitions be included on the instructions section of the page.
As of March 2018, many states are allowing for a value of 'Gender X'. This has been added to the software for all states, even if not approved, for reporting purposes. if your state does not recognize this status, you can change the value on the setup page to another definition. Not all HR systems allow for this option, so mapping this value to other system has not been done.
